Although this is only the second Piccadilly Animals Fair, it is closely related to The Ealing Animals Fair which was started on Saturday 20th May1978 and has now run for 45 years.
Since 1978 the Ealing Animals Fair has been an annual event, usually held on the
first Saturday in March. Originally it was called the Ecology and Animal Welfare
Bazaar and was held at Ealing Town Hall. In 2010 it changed its name to the Ealing
Animal Welfare Bazaar and moved its venue to Hanwell Methodist Church which is still
located in the London Borough of Ealing. For its 40th anniversary year (2018), the
name changed to Ealing Animal Charities Fair and for its 43rd year in 2022 to Ealing
Animals Fair. (There was no Fair in 2021 because of the Covid-
During its 45 years, there have been changes in its format and, now, as well as lots of animal charity stalls, it also includes live music and presentations by eminent speakers.
Participating charities/groups represent a variety of local, national and international animal welfare causes. The stalls raise funds for their work by offering a variety of goods, gifts and bargains for sale. Leaflets and information on their work is available at the event.
Since September 2017, the Ealing Animals Fair has become organised by the Community Interest Company Thinking of Animals CIC.
